Wisp Resort Activities - Pilates and Pizza

Lori Epp from Wisp Resort sent over information regarding two new activities on the Wisp Resort calendar.  The Adventure Park Cafe' now offers a pizza buffet on Thursday nights - all you can eat pizza and salad from 6-9 pm.  Adults eat for $10 and children 12 and under are $6.  The Mountain Coaster and Climbing Wall are open for business during this time as well.

Pilates for Golfers, hosted by Sarah Picot, Certified Pilates Instructor, will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from August 4 until August 15.  The class meets from 4-5pm on the Outdoor Deck.  The cost is $15 per session or $72 if prepaid upfront.

Final 4 Farewell Golf Tournament

The Final 4 Farewell Golf Tournament is a twenty two hole golf tournament designed to say "Farewell" to golf holes #4 through #6 and introduce the new Fantasy Valley holes #11 through #14 into the Wisp Resort Golf Course.  Proceeds from the event benefits the Forest Canopy Walkway at the Discovery Center.

This induction marks the completion of Phase 1 in the Wisp Golf Course renovation.  The project began in 2005 with the conversion of Hole #18 from a Par 4 to a Par 3 which allowed for the old #18 to become a Short Game Learning Center.  Spring 2006 marked the first play on the new Hole #18 and the Driving Range was moved from the base of Belly Flop Trail to the bottom of Possum Trail.  Plans were finalized by Design Workshop of Denver, Colorado and ground was broken in Spring 2006 at Fantasy Valley by Aspen Corporation of Daniels, West Virginia. 

The new renumbered courses will be open to the public for the first time on Saturday June 22.  The Final 4 Farewell Tournament is the only opportunity to be the first to play on the new Wisp Resort Golf Course and the last to play Holes 4 through 6.

Western Maryland Amateur Golf Tournament

The Western Maryland Amateur Golf Tournament takes place at Oakland Golf Club this week.  The three day stroke play golf tournament is open to the public.
