Effective immediately the DNR Forest Service has closed the ‘Snaggy Mt. Road and ORV Trail’ to through traffic. The closure will remain in effect until further notice. The culverts at Bull Glade Run have collapsed beneath the road, leaving a slumped layer of reinforced metal-grid and compacted road surface over a five-foot deep void. In its current status, the road will not safely support traffic of any kind. The Snaggy Mt. Area of the Garrett State Forest can still be accessed from either end of this road, but it is no longer open to through traffic. Signs have been posted at each end of the road advising visitors that the road is closed ahead .5 miles and 3.2 miles respectively, and barricades have been placed in the road to prevent passage over the failed road bed.
