Mountain Reflections is a pre-season light display
featuring over sixty animated and stationary colorful lit displays
distributed throughout Maryland’s beautiful Rocky Gap State Park.
Visitors are greeted by friendly volunteers at the toll booth, directed
to turn their radios to a specific station and are then free to drive
through the show at their own pace. Half way through the show, Rocky
Gap State Park’s Volunteer Team operates Santa’s Snack Shack. This
provides a wonderful opportunity for visitors to park their vehicles,
enjoy refreshments, and spend time exploring the surprising hidden
wonderland created by the volunteers surrounding and inside Santa’s
Work Shop. Dates of operation are Friday November 20th - Friday January 1, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. There is a charge of $7.00 per car, $15.00 per passenger van and $50.00 per tour bus.
All proceeds from the light show go into the Western Potomac Chapter of
the American Red Cross and are used throughout our tri-county region of
Allegany, Garrett, and Mineral Counties. The chapter provides
emergency services for people devastated by natural disasters as well
as things such as house fires and floods. Services expand to also
provide life saving training to all the communities as well as provide
blood collection sites throughout the tri-county region.
