Local youth, Victoria Miske and Benjamin Christophel, recently participated in a Collegiate Practice Competition held at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. Being a collegiate competition, they competed in all three levels: Beginner Dance Level, equivalent to the NDCA (National Dance Council of America) Bronze Division in which they normally compete; the Intermediate Dance Level, equivalent to the NDCA Silver Division; and the Advanced Division, equivalent to the NDCA Gold Division.
They took first place in both the Cha-Cha and Rumba in the Beginner Division and placed second in the Intermediate Division Jive dance and the Advanced Division Samba dance. Both dancers belong to the Art & Style Dance Team of Pittsburgh, PA and train locally under the direction of Jennifer Christophel, Balanced Body Studio, Deep Creek Lake.
