Volunteers are needed for a Japanese Stiltgrass Assault on Saturday August 1 at Deep Creek Lake State Park. Japanese Stiltgrass has become on of the area's most dreaded invasive plants. It takes over large areas of habitat of native plants to grow. The grass is growing in many places in the State Park, an attempt is being made to control the grass. Volunteers are needed to pull and cut the grass. Help is also needed with research to determine which technique works best. For more details or to volunteer, please contact Carolyn Blizzard at 301-387-7067 or cblizzard@dnr.state.md.us.
