The Discovery Center at Deep Creek Lake State Park will host over 40 artists and their original artwork at the 10th Annual Art in the Park on July 11 and 12. This free event will feature Dixieland music, food and naturalist programs in Western Maryland’s most magnificent setting.
“Art in the Park is an event for the entire family to enjoy,” said President of the Western Garrett County State Park Volunteers, Inc (WGCSPVI) Fred Schaich. “Beautiful art work, hands-on activities, delicious food and great music will delight children and parents alike. We are proud to offer such programs that can bring family, fun and education together.”
All artwork on display is available for purchase. The variety of artistic and handmade pieces at the event include unique jewelry, photography, native wildflowers, pottery, fused glass, handmade wooden furniture, hand-woven baskets, wool rugs, children’s books and much more.
Food and a variety of hands-on activities can be enjoyed throughout the day. In addition, visitors can also explore the interpretive/educational Discovery Center, open 10 am to 5 pm daily, during the summer.
Art in the Park will occur on Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
