The 49th Annual Garrett County Summer fishing contest began on May 1, 2009 and will continue through October 3, 2009. The contest is co-sponsored by Deep Creek Outfitters Hardware and Bait House and the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce.
Weekly winners are awarded certificates and plaques are awarded to the season’s largest catches. Fish eligible for the contest are: Bluegill, Chain Pickerel, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch, Northern Pike and Walleye. All fish must be caught in Garrett County waters and registered at Deep Creek Outfitters, 32 Outfitters Way, McHenry.
