The Western Garrett County State Park Volunteers Inc. (WGCSPVI) are hosting their Annual “Natural
Egg Dyeing Program” at the Discovery Center, Deep Creek Lake State Park, on Saturday, April 11th,
between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Children will enjoy the experience of dyeing hardboiled eggs using
natural dyes from material found in the home and nature.
An Easter Bunny will be on hand to distribute ‘goodies.’ Don’t forget your cameras,
as this will be a great photo opportunity. Volunteers will be taking photos for a nominal charge.
Participants are asked to bring no more than six (6) hard-boiled eggs. Please wipe the eggs
off with a mild vinegar solution so the eggs take the dye. Visit with your family and friends anytime between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on April 11th to participate.
There will also be a spring Open House this weekend giving visitors a chance to check out all the new items in
the Nature Shop.
For additional information or learn of other programs offered, please call 301-387-7067,
Friday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.
