Due to ticket demand for Tomáseen Foley’s “A Celtic Christmas,” the Cultural Events Series at Frostburg State University has decided to add a second performance at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1. Tickets for the additional performance in FSU’s Pealer Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center, are now available for sale.
“We originally scheduled ‘A Celtic Christmas’ for Tuesday, Dec. 2, and that date sold out almost as soon as tickets went on sale. We were very fortunate to be able to add a second performance to our schedule,” said Mary Jane Plummer, director of CES.
“A Celtic Christmas” is a joyous and unforgettable celebration of the season. An acclaimed Irish storyteller, Foley recreates the joy and innocence of a night before Christmas in a farmhouse in the remote parish of Teampall an Ghleanntain in the west of Ireland, when the neighbors gather around the fire to grace the long wintry night with the laughter of their stories and the joy of their music, and dances.
Foley’s “A Celtic Christmas” features Grammy-award winning guitarist William Coulter, renowned Irish fiddler and Irish dancer Kathleen Keane, acclaimed piper Brian Bigley and world champion Irish harpist and champion Irish step dancer Marta Cook.
Tickets for the additional performance are $18 for adults and $13 for those under 17; discounted group tickets are available. Tickets may be ordered by calling 301-687-3137 or online at http://ces.frostburg.edu.
