You may have noticed the Town of Oakland sprucing up lately. Sidewalks and curbs have been power washed as part of the “Make Oakland Shine” campaign. Over the next few weeks various organizations and businesses will enhance the look of Oakland for the upcoming season. Some buildings and lights will receive fresh coats of paints and weeds will be pulled. The free parking lot will be receiving new lines and repair or replacement of timbers and/or trees. 
Oakland Main Street is encouraging the use of live flowers decorating the outside of businesses rather then artificial. They are also encouraging the removal of out of season decorations to be replaced with in-season decorations as the seasons change. Main Street appreciates all the support they have received so far and look forward to the town businesses and community’s support in the upcoming weeks.
