The Times-News has details on the County Commissioners Meeting last night - First some feedback regarding the draft of the comprehensive plan with respect to the wind turbines and then an article regarding a proposed lake zoning change.

The Allegany Arts Council invites all amateur and professional photographers from throughout the tri-state region to submit artwork for inclusion in the 15th Annual Tri-State Photography Exhibition. The jury drop-off date for all entries is Saturday February 2nd from 10am until 5pm at the Saville Gallery in Cumberland. Artists may submit up to two entries in any of the following categories: Color, Black & White or Special Effects. There is a $5.00 entry fee for Council members and $10.00 for non members. New members are always welcomed and encouraged. Prizes are sponsored by DeWitt Camera Centre. Applications are available at the Saville Gallery, DeWitt Camera Centre and on line at www.alleganyartscouncil.org. Here's a reminder from the DNR on the upcoming public meetings regarding putting wind energy on public lands in Garrett County. The Garrett County meeting is at Garrett College on Wednesday night. If you can't attend, you can enter commentary on this page in the form at the bottom. Also, the DNR provides a log of the comments that have been received on line. The log is updated on Mondays and Wednesdays, and comments will be accepted until February 29th.
