New Germany State Park announced two acoustic concerts featuring Dr.Greg Latta, scheduled for June 30 and July 28, 2007. Dr. Latta will be singing and performing a combination of Appalachian, Irish, old-time and traditional music using instruments such as the Appalachian dulcimer, guitar, banjo, mandolin, cittern, bouzouki, mandola and recorder.
Greg Latta is proficient at over fifteen instruments. He is a three-time winner of the Mid-Eastern Hammered Dulcimer Championship, placed twice in the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship, and won several awards in the Friendsville, MD banjo competition. He is also host and producer of the radio show, "Just Plain Folks" and a member of the Frostburg State University faculty.
The concerts begin at 7:00 pm in the Lake House at New Germany State Park. The performances are free to the public and suitable for all ages. Accommodations for individuals with disabilities will be provided upon request, with seven days advance notice requested.
